GCCC Humanitarian Award Nomination
The Glendora Community Coordinating Council established a Humanitarian Service Award to focus public attention on the outstanding humanitarian efforts and volunteer services of adults that would probably go unrecognized. An individual or group may be considered for this award, which may be given monthly, September through May. In June, the Eugene Beckwith Award is presented to an individual, individuals or a group for outstanding volunteerism. It is given in honor and recognition of Mr. Beckwith’s contributions to Glendora. To receive this award, nominee(s) or group must meet the following criteria:  
  • The individual(s) or group must have given specific, outstanding service to humanity that would not otherwise be widely recognized. Criteria may include, but is not limited to, the following: Extraordinary volunteer efforts, unusual actions to assist another person(s), acts of heroism or acts of a humane nature.
    • If the nominee is a resident, the service may have been provided outside the Glendora community.
    • If the nominee is not a resident of Glendora, the service must have benefited the community of Glendora.
  • Nominations for the award may be submitted by a community organization, church or individual.
The recipient will attend the general luncheon meeting as a guest of the Coordinating Council. Other guests are welcome, provided they make reservations with the Humanitarian Service Award Board Member at least one week before the meeting. The luncheon costs $20.00 per person. The Coordinating Council will release information about the award recipient to the local press.
